Wedding & Eternity Rings
A Wedding ring or wedding band is a plain ring, often but not always made of precious metal, indicating the wearer is married. Depending on the local culture, the ring is usually worn on the base of the left ring finger. The custom of wearing such a ring has spread widely beyond its origin in Europe. Wedding rings are usually exchanged on the day of marriage.
An Eternity ring , also know as an infinity ring, is a lady's ring, usually worn on the left hand, comprising a band of precious metal set with a continuous line of identically cut gemstones (usually diamonds) to symbolize never-ending love. Traditionally to celebrate the occasion of their first baby, though these days they are used more and more as wedding rings.
Not so long ago we had an elderly couple come in store who purchased an eternity ring to mark their special occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary ... "because it seemed like an eternity"!!
